Children’s Cancer Connection

Children’s Cancer Connection was established in 1988 to provide programs and services to children battling childhood cancer. Quickly it was obvious that the disease not only affects the child but it also affects the entire family. Programs and services have grown with that in mind. Today Children’s Cancer Connection offers a large variety of programs and services centered on our mission of enhancing the lives of families affected by childhood cancer by providing quality programs for education, recreation and support. Services include: Camps & Retreats, Hospital-Based Programs, Support Services & Family Outings and Survivorship Services. Children’s Cancer Connection services all families affected by childhood cancer who are living, treated or diagnosed in the state of Iowa, regardless of treatment outcome. The entire family. The entire journey. Children’s Cancer Connection programs and services are offered at little or no cost, and no one is ever turned away because of financial consideration. They are made possible by the generous support of hundreds of individuals as well as numerous service clubs, businesses and foundations. They receive no state or federal funding and are not part of the United Way. The organization’s services are successful because of the support of more than 25,000 hours of volunteer service every year. Volunteers serve in many roles. They provide general office help and are program volunteers, child care providers during support groups and camp staff at every level.
